Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the heart
of the Center! The continuing success of the Center depends on the
impressive and dedicated efforts of scores of volunteers who
generously give their time, support and enthusiasm. Our volunteer
base of over 200 individuals collectively contributes hundreds of
hours each month, and comes from many neighborhoods that are
outside the Center's service area. Volunteers of the Center
contribute their time and a great deal of expertise. Many of them
have worked in fields such as social security, nursing, social
services and education, providing a wealth of knowledge and insight
that is beneficial in all they do for the Center. They drive our
vans to pick-up, store and distribute food; interview clients and
maintain records; prepare and deliver food for our Saturday Meal
Delivery program to the homebound; assist with fundraisers; work in
our pantry and clothing rooms; and help keep our organization
running smoothly as we continue serving the needs of the poor, the
homeless and the elderly.
