Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Interviewers
Volunteers to help interview clients requesting emergency assistance.
We will provide training and supervision as you interview clients to
assess their needs and provide them with the critical services they need.
This is a great way to see social services up close and come face-to-face
with those you are helping. Shifts
are available from 10:00AM-12:00noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Fridays.
Food Sorters
Volunteers sort donated food by category so that it is ready to give away in our
food pantry. This is a good way to
learn about Redemptorist Center. We
can find times and days that work for your schedule. This is a great
opportunity for a family, business or church group!
Food Pick-Up Driver
Volunteers pick up donated food from grocery stores, restaurants and other
businesses. A great hands-on
volunteer opportunity where you can clearly see how much you are helping.
We need drivers for 2-hour shifts any weekday.
Driver
Volunteer to help drive our seniors on activities on Wednesdays and Thursdays
during the day (hours vary, but we can work with your schedule).
Must have valid drivers license, good driving record and good personal
skills.
Employment Counselor
- Volunteer will help clients
prepare resumes, learn interviewing skills and locate appropriate employment.
This is a great opportunity to make an enormous difference in someone
elses life. We can work with you
to schedule a time that works best for you if you are interested in helping
people find employment.
Bingo Caller
Come and call out Bingo and Pokeno for a group of seniors from 12:30-2:30 PM on
Thursdays. Or come at 12:00 noon
for lunch!
Home Delivery Driver
Deliver food to homebound seniors. This
is a very rewarding volunteer opportunity where you work directly with the older
adults we serve. Home deliveries is
from 9:00AM-12:00noon on Thursday during the last full week of the month.
Cook This is
not complicated cooking, so you dont need to be a master chef.
One volunteer opportunity each morning on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays
to warm and prepare meals for our senior hot lunch program.
Carpenter,
Electrician, Plumber, etc. Skilled workers to help with minor home
repairs for seniors and small projects at the Center.
Your donated skills are extremely valuable to those in need and can make
a big difference in someone elses life.
We can schedule a time that works best for you.
Clerical Volunteers
Volunteers to help with periodic mailings, filing, office organizing and a
host of other clerical and administrative tasks. We can be very flexible and work with your schedule if you
have a few hours to donate to help those in need.
Clothing Closet
Volunteer Volunteers sort donated clothing and assist clients who need
clothes. Shifts available in the
morning on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Food Pantry
Volunteer Volunteers prepare the food pantry for use by clients and
assist clients in need of food. This
is a good opportunity if you like to see how your volunteer time makes a
difference. Shifts available in the
morning on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Faith Community
Liaisons Are you a people person? Do
you like to help people get involved? We need volunteers to serve as a link between Redemptorist
Center and faith communities. This
is a great opportunity for someone who wants their church, synagogue, mosque or
temple to become more active in the community.
Very flexible hours for this one.
Nurse volunteers
We need professional nurses to volunteer to do basic health screenings for
our senior clients on any weekday morning.
Dishwasher
Volunteer to help wash dishes for senior hot lunch program.
Shifts on Mondays and Tuesdays around lunchtime.
