Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Interview Clients
Volunteers are needed to help interview clients requesting
emergency assistance. We will provide training and supervision as
you interview clients to assess their needs and provide them with
the critical services. This is a great way to see social services
up close by being face-to-face with those you are helping. Shifts
are available Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM-12:00 noon.
Interviewers are also needed for our vacation/sick leave back-up
list.
We especially need a volunteer fluent in Spanish to interview clients.
Saturday Meal Delivery
This volunteer driven program resulted from an unmet community
need, and provides the homebound elderly with a freshly prepared
and nutritious meal, and an opportunity for socialization.
Volunteers are needed to deliver the meals to the homebound on
Saturdays. It only takes a little time- 8:30 am to 11:30 am- to
make a huge impact in the life of someone in need.
Minor Home Repairs
This program provides assistance for a wide variety of
tasks that are difficult for many seniors to perform alone- minor
electrical and plumbing problems (leaking toilets, sinks and
faucets), light housekeeping, mailing letters, and ensuring
seasonal home preparedness (storm windows, yard maintenance, etc.).
Skilled workers are needed to help with minor home repairs for
seniors. Your donated abilities are extremely valuable to those in
need and can make a big difference in their life. We'll schedule a
time that works best for you.
Clothing Room
Volunteers needed to sort and hang donated clothes in the Center's
Clothing Room. Just choose a day… Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am
to 12 noon.
Do you have a special skill or talent that you would like
to share with the Center? Call us…we can use you!
