Annual Volunteer Opportunities
We'll be happy to
work with groups to design a service opportunity that matches your needs and
interests.
Sock It To
Poverty - Join the Center every September as we campaign for new socks
and underwear for people in need. We need drivers to help drop-off or
pick-up collection barrels at businesses and schools around Kansas City.
Drivers who have their own pick-up trucks or vans are especially needed.
The shifts are 2-3 hours and can be scheduled to fit your availability.
Sock Sorting Party -
Help sort and bag our collection of new socks and underwear that we share
with over 20 area agencies. This is a great hands-on opportunity for
students to earn community service hours. Plan to bring your co-workers,
friends or family members and spend a Saturday morning helping people in
need. Watch for details.
Sock It To
Poverty Charity Golf Tournament - Our 5th annual SITP golf tournament
will be Monday, September 10, 2007 at the beautiful Lakewood Oaks Golf
Club. Volunteers are needed to assist with registration, monitor course
games, and help with obtaining sponsors, raffle and auction items. All
tournament proceeds go to the Center's programs of assistance.
Servers for Senior
Thanksgiving Banquet - Volunteer to help serve food at our Thanksgiving
banquet on in November. A wonderful holiday opportunity for a family,
business or church group!
Let's Dance - Our
senior ladies need dancing partners for the Holiday Snow Ball on
